This piece was inspired by the book, Amusing Ourselves to Death, by Neil Postman [1985]. It details how public discourse has become entertainment through TV: media has a distorted reality which distorts life. My piece relates to escapism in the entertainment reality humans have created for themselves, temporary & dissatisfying: an environment of escapism.
